What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. It lets the site recognise your browser on the next page you load. Some cookies are needed for a site to work at all; others exist to measure traffic or to follow people between sites for advertising.

What this site uses

SHIKOR has added no cookies of its own to this site. Nothing we have built — the navigation, the film on the home page, the contact form, the hair quiz — sets a cookie or stores anything in your browser.

The cookies you will find here are set by Shopify, the platform that hosts the site, and fall into two groups:

  • Strictly necessary. These keep the site working: they maintain your session, remember your region and language, balance traffic across servers, and protect against fraud and abuse. The site cannot function without them, and they are not used to track you across other websites.
  • Shopify store analytics. Shopify sets first-party cookies that let a store owner see aggregate traffic — how many people visited, which pages they read, roughly where they came from. We see totals and trends, not individuals, and this data stays within Shopify.

Shopify publishes the current list of cookie names, purposes, and lifetimes, and it changes as the platform changes. The authoritative list is in Shopify’s own documentation at shopify.com/legal/cookies.

What this site does not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no TikTok pixel.
  • No third-party analytics. No Google Analytics.
  • No session-recording, heatmap, or A/B testing tools.
  • No social media tracking cookies. We link to our social accounts; we do not embed their widgets.
  • No cookies set by any other company — the site loads its fonts, images, and code from its own domain, so no outside party is contacted when you open a page.

The hair quiz

The quiz sets no cookies and saves nothing to your browser’s storage. Your answers exist only while the page is open. Your result is carried in the page address, which is why you can bookmark or share it — that link is the only thing that persists, and only if you save it yourself.

Managing cookies

You control cookies through your browser. Every major browser lets you see what is stored, delete it, and block future cookies — look under Settings for “Privacy”, “Cookies”, or “Site data”. Your browser’s help pages have step-by-step instructions.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site working properly. Because we run no advertising or third-party tracking here, there is no advertising opt-out to offer you — there is nothing to opt out of.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the cookies used on the site change. The effective date at the top tells you when it last changed.
