Who we are
This site is operated by Shikor Beauty LLC. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For anything in it, write to shikorhairtools@gmail.com
What this policy covers
This policy covers the SHIKOR website only. It does not cover information you give us in person at a trade show, by direct email, over the phone, or through a social media platform — those platforms have their own privacy policies.
This site does not sell anything. There is no cart, no checkout, no payment processing, and no customer account, so we collect no payment details, no billing or shipping addresses, and no order history here.
Information you give us
The only place on this site where you can send us information is the contact form. When you use it, we receive:
- the type of enquiry you selected;
- your name;
- your email address;
- your company, if you enter one;
- the message you write.
All of it is optional in the sense that you choose whether to contact us at all. If you leave out your email address we cannot reply.
The form includes a hidden field that real visitors never see or fill in. It exists only to catch automated spam, and nothing typed into it by a person is used for any other purpose.
Information collected automatically
This site is hosted by Shopify. Like any web host, Shopify records standard technical information when a page is requested — IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time of the request — and sets a small number of first-party cookies. This is what keeps the site working and secure, and it happens on every website you visit.

What we do not do
- We have added no analytics service, advertising pixel, or third-party tracker to this site. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no heatmap or session-recording tool.
- The site loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or embeds. Everything — typefaces, images, code — is served from this site’s own domain, so no outside company is told that you visited.
- There is no newsletter sign-up, no mailing list, and no marketing email from this site.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.
- We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
The hair quiz
The quiz runs entirely inside your browser. Your answers are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not saved to your device — no cookie, no stored data. Closing the tab discards them.
Your result is written into the page address so you can bookmark it or send it to someone. If you share that link, the person you send it to sees the result; they do not see your individual answers.
How we use information
We use what you send through the contact form to read your message, reply to it, and carry on the conversation it starts — a wholesale enquiry, a press request, a question. We use the technical information our host records to keep the site available, diagnose faults, and defend against abuse. We use it for nothing else.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only:
- With Shopify, which hosts this site and delivers the contact form to our inbox, and with our email provider, which stores the messages we receive. They act on our instructions.
- With professional advisers — for example an accountant or lawyer — where necessary and confidential.
- Where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
- If the business is sold or transferred, as part of that transaction, with the same protections continuing to apply.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as the relationship they concern is active, and for a reasonable period after that in case the conversation resumes — ordinarily no more than three years from our last exchange, unless we need to keep it longer for tax, accounting, or legal reasons. Spam and obvious junk is deleted as we see it.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the inbox that receives enquiries is limited and password-protected. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please do not send us sensitive personal information by email or through the form.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Write to shikorhairtools@gmail.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
If you are in California. The CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising — so there is nothing to opt out of. You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf.
If you are in the EEA or the UK. You also have the right to object to or restrict our use of your information, to receive it in a portable format, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Our lawful basis for handling enquiry messages is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us; for keeping the site running and secure, our legitimate interest in operating it.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
International visitors
We operate from the United States, and the information described here is handled there. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from the law where you live.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change — and we will certainly update it when SHIKOR begins selling online, because that will introduce order and payment information this policy does not cover. The effective date at the top tells you when it last changed.
